A note from ILL NANA/DiverseCity Dance Company:
As a Queer/Trans positive multiracial collective, we support and create media and art that focuses on QTBIPOC communities. For this short film, we purposely took up space and danced in several locations in the Gay Village, a space where our bodies, art, and presence are often underrepresented and excluded from, and where we face violence. Our choreography has a message of shutting down systems of homophobia, queerphobia, transphobia, and racism, while celebrating all that we are in the process. We continue to represent our voices and provide affirming spaces for the BIPOC & LGBTQ communities to learn dance and movement and perform.
