Abolition After Crisis

“Abolition is not a slogan.” – Dr. Vanessa Thompson

Activist scholars, Kafia and Laura, host a podcast called Abolition After Crisis, where they discuss the past, present and future of the prison industrial complex (PIC) abolition. Kafia reflects on her involvement in the roundtable with Moka Dawkins, and the two discuss their growing understanding of abolition as part of a longer Black Radical Tradition that centres QTBIPOC. The two also explore what PIC abolition looks like during and after COVID-19.

This podcast was produced as part of coursework for a course led by Prof. Jin Haritaworn.
